Caroline or Change

Caroline or Change depicts the story of Caroline, a nanny, who takes care of (and kind of mothers) a household of children. With beautiful, soulful songs, this musical is very pleasing to the ear. My favorite songs are the ones in which the inanimate objects (washer, dryer, radio, moon) sing with Caroline :)

The Apple Tree

The Apple Tree is a collection of three stories told in musical form. It really explores the relationship between a woman and a man in a comedic, thrilling fashion. Overall a great and funny show.

Parade

Parade is a dramatic musical that has truly changed my life. Listening to this musical guided me to a career in musical theatre. The ability to express the lives of characters such as Franky and Leon make what we do as actors an amazing thing.

Peter Pan

Cathy Rigby is the amazing actress who brought the story of Peter Pan to life. The magic and will to believe depicted in her character really helped to bridge the gap between imagination and reality in this amazing broadway production.

13

13 is a fun musical written by Jason Robert Brown that explores the struggles of growing up and friendship. :)

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Hilarious. That is what this musical is. Spelling Bee is a landmark contemporary musical filled with intense comedy, high belting, and character acting out the wazoo. It's a great show that I hope to someday land a role in :)

The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music may be the most well known piece of Musical Theatre of them all. The original Broadway cast did well, but Julie Andrews made this musical popular with her movie adaptation of the show. Rolf was an especially fun role to play if only for getting to sing Sixteen Going on Seventeen. Enjoy!

Dreaming Wide Awake

Scott Alan is a genius. Enough said. His music is fantastic and really appeals to my ear for musical theatre. I hope you can use this score to find a great performance piece or audition cutting. It truly is phenomenal.

Fiddler on the Roof

Fiddler is a classic broadway musical that depicts the tail of Tevye and his three daughters. Had the opportunity to play Motel a couple years ago. Fun part and an overall very fun musical. The second act is a little slow, however ;)

Into the Woods

Into the Woods has always been my favorite Sondheim show and very recently, I had the pleasure of portraying the role of Jack. It was a great experience, but I remember spending hours on end trying, not only to memorize the lyrics, but to understand them as well. Thanks Sondhy. :)

Violet

Violet is a great off broadway musical with themes similar to Hunchback of Notre Dame. It follows the story of a young girl trying to get her scar (caused by an axe-blade to the face) healed somehow. The great score and southern vibe make this musical a must!

p.s. Took forever to find!

Songs for a New World

Songs for a New World is a wonderful show I had the pleasure of doing this year. It's a collection of Songs by Jason Robert Brown, with a cast of just four people. The complex harmonies and lack of an ensemble gives this musical a special place in my heart.

Next to Normal

With all the craze with this new musical, I figured it would be a good first addition to the blog. Enjoy!

Synopsis:

How this site will work :)

Greeting s!
Welcome to the Musical Theatre Resource, a place where students and teachers alike can obtain musical theatre for educational purposes. Essentially, this blog exists to provide downloadable sheet music and karaoke tracks to be used in a learning environment. Before I begin attaching links, I have a few things I must say before this process begins.

1) Please have respect for others using this blog.
2) Do not download more than one score a day.
3) I do not accept any responsibility regarding your personal downloads, the uploads of the scores, or any other illegal activity that may or may not be happening. Use this site at your own risk.
4) The downloads should be used for educational purposes only.
5) If you plan on downloading, please become a fan or post something so I know who is using my system.
6) Remember, sheet music is an invaluable resource and would only be made available if the composers released it, so keep them in the back of your minds :)

With that said, I hope you can use and enjoy this blog.
